William Gibson has to get a look in if you are going to talk transhumanism, it’s just unfortunate that there isn’t an entry that better showcases Gibsons skills than 1995’s Johnny Mnemonic.  None the less the core of Gibsons ideas come through.  The only problem with Gibson’s Cyberpunk world is it hasn’t come true and probably won’t for some time.  Humans are definitely connected much more via the virtual world and new problems are arising.  We are a long way though from biology and technology interfacing with one another.

At some point plugging in will become a thing.  It seems inevitable, the only question is will this be to interact with each other, or to interact with AI.

That is a question left to next episode…. The Matrix.

Highway To Mars

Welcome to Martian Central, please take a ticket, the sheep ray will be with you shortly. Highway to Mars was created by Author Stefan Sawynok as an excuse to ramble his way through Science Fiction that he liked and to shine a light on things such as books that don't get covered all that often in fandom. Mostly covers British and American sci-fi but occasionally steps out to cover pieces from around the world. There is so much Sci-fi out there and so little time. :)
